Roku Owns 37% of Streaming Hardware Market

Roku hardware is now the nation’s most popular streaming hardware, outselling Apple TV nearly two to one according to new data by Parks and Associates. The survey found that in the first quarter of this year, 37% of all streaming devices owned by US broadband households were made by Roku. That was followed by a 27% market share by Amazon, 18% market share by Google Chromecast devices, and a 15% market share by Apple TV. A big reason for Roku’s success is of course price, with entry level $30 devices now available at most major retailers like Walmart.
